Job Summary

You will serve as a Senior Nuclear Engineer in the Nuclear Facilitites and Waste Engineering Division (Code 2380), Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department (Code 2300) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Job Description

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying engineering concepts, theories, principles, practices and techniques related to the design, installation, operation and maintenance of nuclear powered naval vessels, support and auxiliary systems and support facilities. Experience organizing and leading teams to plan and execute complex projects, resolve highly complex technical issues and integrate the work of several support organizations to meet schedule constraint. Experience interpreting/evaluating engineering drawings/specifications/technical data packages as well as the planning/construction of nuclear facilities. Experience providing Submarine Tender support, AS (X) design and Corporate DMD support.
