Job Summary

You will serve as an ASSISTANT INSPECTOR GENERAL in the OFFICE OF INSPECTOR GENERAL (IG) at the U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY.

Job Description

For the GS-12 position: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Advising personnel on Inspector General (IG) inspections and assessments; 2) Investigate hotline allegations and complaints to determine violations; 3) Recommending actions to correct deficiencies and strengthen internal control to help ensure government resources are effectively and efficiently managed; and 4) Briefing managers, leadership, and senior officials on case status, findings determined from a complaint or allegation, recommendations, and follow-on actions. NOTE: All experience must be fully demonstrated in your resume to be considered for the position. For the GS-11 position: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Tracking the progress of review recommendations to ensure activity corrects the deficiencies; 2) Coordinating with appropriate personnel on IG investigations; and 3) Evaluating internal controls to comply with laws and regulations and promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the administration of organization's programs and operations.
