Job Description
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must be a Registered Architect (RA) if applying for the 0808 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You MUST provide a copy of your current license/registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Able to provide leadership and specialized design consultation and support for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast (NAVFAC SE) Architecture and Interior Design Community. 2) Expertise in independently preparing complex architectural designs and specifications for a wide range of Department of Defense shore facility projects. 3) Expertise in providing designs utilizing architectural evaluation, modeling, and drafting software. 4) Demonstrated mastery of all aspects of architectural design development and production. 5) Expertise in performing as a design manager for multi-discipline projects including providing team leadership for design charrettes, design coordination meetings, design reviews, and compilation of final design documents packages. 6) Possessing in-depth knowledge of specifications, criteria, policy, industry criteria and standards, and standard practices as related to architecture. 7) Expertise in ensuring that the architectural aspects of a project are constructed in accordance with contract plans and specifications. Proficient in the following construction support activities: review and approve shop drawings, delegated designs, Value Engineering cost Proposals (VECPs), and provide technical responses to Requests for Information (RFIs).
