You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) (PROJECT MANAGER) in the TECHNICAL SUPPORT DIVISION (CODE 109.1), INFO TECHNOLOGY & CYBERSECURITY OFFICE at PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Job Description
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying new IT developments and applications, emerging technologies and their applications to automated technical data management systems, project management principles, methods and practices, including developing plans and schedules, estimating resource requirements, defining program milestones, monitoring contractor activities, and evaluating test and software integration efforts sufficient to ensure the integration of the IT program. Experience developing solutions to software integration and interoperability issues. Experience with a wide range of Information Technology techniques, requirements, methods, and procedures in support of all end devices, servers, storage, virtualization, backup/recovery, operating systems, Active Directory, networking, software and associated hardware. Experience providing expert technical recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical system administrative support issues. Experience applying oral and written communication skills to communicate assignments, projects, milestones, and deadlines to the team. ________________________________________ and _____________________________________ Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Monitoring and assessing server and system performance across the enterprise LAN environment, identifying emerging bottlenecks, latency, and system degradation before they escalate into mission-impacting issues. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Collaborating with internal and external entities to resolve technical issues, ensure compliance with federal standards, and support shared services or joint initiatives. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Presenting briefings to senior management officials on complex issues. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Participating in individual and team research and problem-solving assignments involving assessment and migration to emerging technologies.
