Job Summary
You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the CVN INTEGRATION BRANCH (N65), AVAILABILITY INTEGRATION DIVISION (N60), MODERNIZATION & INSTALLATION DEPARTMENT (N00) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in San Diego, CA. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Job Description
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of qualifying experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) or grade level in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of qualifying experience: Applying principles, methods, and tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating and managing engineering projects and resources, including technical performance. Planning and directing the installation of complex systems and associated facilities, particularly where there are site selection and construction problems, dealings with contractors and public utilities, and the possible need to modify equipment for naval site characteristics. Applying knowledge of ship, aircraft, or equipment maintenance to plan, schedule, control, and perform modernization or maintenance in a manner that will keep the ship, aircraft, equipment, device, or system in working order or prevent trouble from arising to ensure maximum operational readiness. Developing, performing, evaluating, or modifying calibration and test equipment, systems and procedures.
