Job Summary

You will serve as a Human Resources Specialist (Employee Relations/Labor Relations) in the Human Capital Management Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Job Description

FOR THE GS-09 GRADE LEVEL: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Acting as an advisor for labor relations issues in organizations with a wide variety of occupations with significant employee issues such as standby, overtime, shift, and environmental pay issues; (2) Offering assistance on grievance procedures and options for resolution of conflicts or problems along with ensuring official case files are properly maintained in accordance with regulatory guidance; (3) Conducting work on controversial and complex Unfair Labor Practices and grievances that have impact on items such as mission accomplishment and budget; (4) Providing advice on complex and controversial issues and developing strategies to deal with diverse management needs and views; and (5) Providing advice and assistance in areas of discipline, adverse actions, grievances, employee counseling, and other related functions. FOR THE GS-07 GRADE LEVEL: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Promoting effective employee-management relations and providing advice on complex and controversial issues; (2) Providing labor relations services on reorganizations, realignments, relocations, reductions in force, transfers of function, and outsourcing in order to educate management; (3) Offering advice and assistance in the areas of discipline, adverse actions, grievances, employee counseling, and related functions; and (4) Interpreting policies and providing advice on grievance procedures and options for resolution of conflicts or problems.
