Job Summary
You will serve as a HOUSING MANAGER in the UH and FH Community Support Programs Department of NAVAL AIR WEAPONS STATION CHINA LAKE. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
Job Description
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing management and technical oversight of the installation Family Housing Services functions for Public Private Venture (PPV) property management functions; 2) Using surveys and inspections to evaluate current issues, trends, and conditions to solve problems in order to develop and implement short-range and long-range plans for construction, maintenance, and occupancy goals for Unaccompanied Housing and Public Private Venture (PPV) programs; 3) Determining requirements and managing all resources used in support of assigned housing facilities and infrastructure, including facilities, funds, supplies, and equipment;4) Ensuring regulatory compliance by applying knowledge of current community laws, guidelines, and procedures to Federal, Department of Defense, and Department of Navy policy framework to promote resident safety and advocate for service members and their families; and 5) Performing supervisory duties such as managing, organizing, directing, providing technical leadership and guidance, assigning and prioritizing work, position management, evaluating work performance of subordinates and resolving disciplinary issues for contractors, non-appropriated fund employees, and military members.
