You will serve as a Civil Engineer (Structural) in the Planning, Design and Construction Directorate of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG SYSTEMS COMMAND PAC.

Job Description

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Current registration as a Professional Engineer by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico is required. Are you currently registered as a professional engineer? NOTE: NOTE: You must include a copy of your current registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not show current registration status will not serve to verify this requirement. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing structural engineering drawings, technical specifications, calculations, studies, and performing design reviews for facility design projects; 2) Developing innovative solutions for structural engineering problems not readily treated by conventionally accepted methods; 3) Performing field investigations to verify and document existing structural conditions as a basis for the design of facility projects or to assist in resolution of construction issues; 4) Managing structural engineering facilities projects from cradle to grave with adherence to budget, schedule and quality standards; 5) Serving on independent technical review teams and quality assurance (QA) teams for review of structural design documents; and. 6) Mastery level knowledge and skill in applying advanced theories, concepts, and principles of professional structural engineering to serve as a regional engineering point of contact/recognized subject matter expert for design and construction projects. Specialized experience includes design and construction of waterfront facilities, including but not limited to ship berthing, heavy weather moorings and submarine and surface combatant camels.
