Job Summary
You will serve as a Special Assistant for Aviation Facilities in the Planning, Design, and Construction Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND ATLANTIC.
Job Description
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: A current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect (RA) from any state, the District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Understanding of facilities engineering, facilities design and construction development, systems engineering and building materials, methods, systems, and equipment used in construction; 2) Developing architectural and/or engineering design documents; 3) Understanding of the Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG) website, Tri-service efforts towards criteria standardization, and the value of criteria in facilities development and sustainment; 4) Understanding of industry standard criteria, DoD criteria, Navy criteria (UFC, UFGS, PTS, Instructions, etc.); 5) Understanding of criteria development, consensus development/coordination; 6) Understanding of various acquisition methods: Design Build (DB), Design Bid Build (DBB), In-house DBB/DB, AE DBB/DB; and 6) Planning and design experience with airfields and aviation facilities, structures, equipment and materials.
