Job Description

No assumptions will be made about your experience. GS-5: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-4 level in the federal service. Examples of specialized experience may include assisting with general correspondence, entering time and attendance records in an automated payroll system, aiding in the entering of data and entering of records, inventories, and dispositions in accordance with records schedule. Basic knowledge of automated systems for tasks such as electronic mail, time and attendance reporting, internet, and multi-line telephone. -OR- Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with related course work. -OR- You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate undergraduate education. GS-6: One (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level in the federal service. Examples of specialized experience may include independently preparing general correspondence, entering time and attendance records in an automated payroll system, providing assistance in the completion of records review, inventories, and dispositions in accordance with records schedule. Additionally, a broad working knowledge of the functions related to budget and finance, natural resources, travel, timekeeping/payroll, correspondence, records, collections, and public contact. -OR- Successful completion of one full year of graduate education directly related to the work of the position. -OR- You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. GS-7: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-6 level in the federal service. Examples of specialized experience may include performing complex administrative support with general correspondence, entering time and attendance records into an automated payroll system, advising in the completion of records review, inventories, and dispositions in accordance with records schedule. Additionally, the ability to perform independent judgement to the following functions in budget and finance, natural resources, travel, timekeeping/payroll, correspondence, records, collections, and public contact. -OR- Successful completion of one full year of graduate education directly related to the work of the position. -OR- You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
