We expect to fill many vacancies. This is a temporary appointment. Appointment to this position will not convey permanent status and will be for a period not-to-exceed 1560 hours in a service year.
Job Description

GS-05: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors). This experience must demonstrate routine administrative support, including at least three (3) of the following duties: Providing front desk or visitor center coverage including answering public inquires via phone, email or in-person; processing, sorting and distributing physical or electronic incoming and outgoing mail and packages; receiving public fees, balancing a standard cash drawer, and issuing transactional receipts; inputting data into automated databases or drafting simple administrative forms. OR Education: Successful completion of at least a full four-year course of study above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. OR Combination of Specialized Experience: A combination of education and specialized experience as described above, when combined, equals 100% of the total requirement. GS-06: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors). This experience must demonstrate independent clerical support, including the core duties of verifying timekeeping and travel records, PLUS at least two (2) of the following location specific duties: Reconciling collections accounts, processing transactional reports, or preparing financial deposits; preparing, editing, and tracking official correspondence, memos, and administrative notices for management review; auditing automated database entries to identify and resolve systemic tracking or filing errors. GS-07: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors). This experience must demonstrate independent management of administrative programs, including coordinating travel, timekeeping, or public contact programs, PLUS at least one (1) of the following program areas: Managing fleet operations, including vehicle scheduling, dispatch tracking, maintenance, and monthly reporting; ensuring personal property accountability, including database tracking, asset distribution, and physical inventory controls; serving as a collection lead managing multi-account treasury deposits, account reconciliations, or fund transfers. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands: The work is mostly sedentary. There is occasional carrying of light objects such as files, books, and paperwork. There are no special physical requirements required. Work Environment: The work is performed in an office setting. The work environment involves everyday risks which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, or commercial vehicles. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and air conditioned. Occasional travel is required. The incumbent will adhere to all safety rules and regulations as prescribed in manuals/supplements or by the designated Safety Officer.
