You will serve as a Field Unit Local Hiring Authority (FUL) - Construction Control Representative within the Department of Interior, National Park Service, Southeast, Division of Area Services, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Job Description

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-07/10/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-9 grade level, you must meet A, B, or C defined below: A. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-9, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-8 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. * Note: For in-service applicants ONLY, one year of specialized experience at the second lower level (GS-7) is creditable. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience include: Engineering aid or technician or surveying technician performing work directly related to construction. Construction inspector or construction representative responsible for interpreting plans and specifications, inspecting materials and workmanship, insuring adherence to safety requirements. Supervisor of craftspersons, equipment operators, or mechanics engaged in construction work, provided that the experience involved responsibility for interpreting plans and specifications and inspecting workmanship for adherence to such plans and specifications. -OR- B. Education: Possess two full years of graduate education or a master's degree in a field directly related to the work of the position. -OR- C. Combination of Education and Specialized Experience: Possess a combination of specialized experience and graduate education directly related to the work of the position that together meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. *COR License Level I or II is required for this position. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
