Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) planning, coordinating, and conducting complex general, special, or follow-up inspections using systemic methodologies to evaluate organizational compliance, mission capability, and effectiveness; 2) conducting and overseeing sensitive investigations and inquiries (e.g., whistleblower reprisal, fraud, waste, and abuse), to include gathering evidence, evaluating testimony, and drafting legally and technically substantiated reports; 3) applying advanced analytical techniques to identify root causes of systemic organizational problems and developing comprehensive recommendations for corrective action or policy revision; 4) evaluating operational and administrative programs to ensure strict compliance with federal, DoD, or equivalent executive-level regulatory guidance (such as Intelligence Oversight). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
