Job Description

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Service members in the rank up to SSgt are eligible to apply. Selected individual must be assigned to a compatible military position in the following AFSC upon date of hire: AFSC 1P0X1. The AFSC(s) require an aptitude of M40 and a physical profile of K222221. Aptitude scores can be checked on the vMPF or at the Customer Service in the Force Support Squadron and physical profile in the medical squadron. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full-time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicants knowledge of materials and equipment used in the line of work (helmets, torso harness assemblies, parachutes, survival equipment). Ability to understand written instructions and to use reference materials and manuals. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months experience or training which has demonstrated knowledge of aviation life support equipment. Experience reading and interpreting military manuals. Experience in supply procedures and property accountability. Experience collecting information and presenting it to various sized groups. Experience in planning a functional shop maintenance program is essential. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Skill in inspecting, repairing, replacing and issuing aircrew flight equipment. Skill in utilizing a variety of diagnostic testers, systems, and specialist tools used to test and troubleshoot aircrew flight equipment. Skill in accomplishing work with a high degree of independence, to include meeting deadlines and priorities. Knowledge of multiple computer programs and databases.
