Job Description

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: MSGT to SMSgt are eligible to apply. Selected individual must be assigned to a compatible military position in the following AFSC upon date of hire: AFSC 1D7XXX. Aptitude scores can be checked on the vMPF or at the Customer Service in the Force Support Squadron and physical profile in the medical squadron. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate Specialized Experience: Must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower GS-grade (or equivalent) in the competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities listed. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Skill to plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Knowledge to provide technical expertise and management oversight, in the installation, administration, optimization, and operation of multiple large and enhanced complex networks and communication systems. Skill to develop and recommend technical solutions to mission and customer requirements. Skill to lead technical team efforts for contract proposal reviews and independently determines adequacy of vendor ability to perform requested service or delivery of requirements.
