Job Summary

This position is a Logistics Management Specialist, GS- 0346-9 working in Lewistown, Montana for the R6-Montana Fire Management Zone. This position serves as an Interagency Assistant Dispatch Center Manager. This position is also open to status candidates under announcement R6-25-12670672-WA-MP. Job Description

Only experience and education obtained by 05/08/2025 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position, you must possess the Minimum Qualification. Minimum Qualification [GS-09] One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-07 in the Federal service. Experience may include (1) establishing priorities, allocating resources, and supervising the mobilization, demobilization, and reassignment of wildland fire suppression resources; (2) ensuring preparation of contingency plans; (3) monitoring incident and administrative intelligence; (4) directing ordering and procurement; and (5) assisting with the administration, integration, and oversight of the use of telecommunication equipment, computer based applications, and other related communications equipment. OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Logistics, Advanced Supply Chain Management, Fire Management, etc. OR A combination of education and experience as described in 1 and 2 above which together equals 100% of the requirement Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
