Job Summary
This position is located in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) within the Office of Application Processing for Patents (OAPP), Assistant Commissioner for Patents, Office of Data Management (ODM). The incumbent will serve as a Supervisory Patent Issuance Manager who will be responsible to perform as a principal information management specialist and to plan, assign, supervise and manage work for staff of subordinate specialist and administrative support personnel.

Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, you must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade in the Federal service: For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS- 13. Specialized experience for this position includes: Managing program operations involving automated information systems, business processes, or information management to support efficient and effective program delivery; and Conducting system testing and analyzing results to support system implementation or enhancements; and Developing and implementing corrective actions or process improvements; and Leading a team of employees by planning, assigning and evaluating the work to accomplish program objectives. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
