Job Description
In order to qualify at the ZA-III level, applicants must possess: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 (ZA-II at NIST) level. Specialized experience is defined as: 1. Experience with safety programs in scientific, construction, and facility environments. 2. Experience applying safety protocols and procedures regarding occupational safety and health with demonstrated experience persuading and influencing others to comply. In order to qualify at the ZA-IV level, applicants must possess: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13(ZA-III at NIST) level. Specialized experience is defined as: 1. Experience applying OSH regulations in scientific, construction, and machine shop environments 2. Experience abating hazards and inspecting safety equipment with an emphasis on cranes, rigging, fall protection systems, and machine shops Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
