This position is located in Office of Postsecondary Education, Policy, Planning and Innovation, Accreditation Group in Washington DC. This position is responsible for providing assistance to management, professionals at higher education institutions, and the general public regarding the legislation and regulations governing all student financial aid programs sponsored by the Department of Education.
Job Description
Minimum Qualification Requirements You may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-13, if you possess the specialized experience. Specialized Experience for the GS-13 One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-12 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments: 1. Experience analyzing Title IV federal student aid program regulations, specifically the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program, and student loan programs experience with regulations impacted by the One Big Beautiful Bill changes to facilitate policy development. 2. Experience developing written Title IV federal student aid programs related to loan forgiveness programs (Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)) and federal student loan programs (ie., Health Education Assistance Loan (HEAL), Perkins, Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL), Direct Loans, or Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS), Consolidation, the One Big Beautiful Bill loan program changes) information to provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders. 3. Experience conducting investigative and enforcement process actions related to Title IV student aid programs, specifically in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program. Knowledge of administrative laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to administration of important programs, including PSLF. 2. Knowledge in the application evaluative procedures for the assessment and improvement of program efficiency/effectiveness or improvement of management processes and systems. 3. Skill to investigate, identify, and develop methods to resolve work process problems that affect the accomplishment of program goals and objectives. 4. Knowledge of regulations, policies, procedures, and application of methods of the Title IV programs, including Public Service Loan Forgiveness. 5. Skill to write and orally present in an understandable and concise manner.
