THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HEALTH TECHNICIAN (Title 32), Position Description Number D1243000 and is part of the OK STATE AVIATION OFFICE, Oklahoma Army National Guard.
Job Description
MILITARY GRADES: E-4 through E-8 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which provided a basic knowledge of principles and practices related to the health care delivery system. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months experience, education, or training which provided a working knowledge of missions, organizations, programs and requirements of health care delivery systems. Experience analyzing and recommending solutions to complicated problems. Experience developing and implementing various policies and procedures used in the state medical programs. Experience involving various administrative areas such as budget, personnel and public relations within a medical activity. Experience in health related physical examinations for military/civilian personnel. Experience conducting screenings such as vital signs (i.e., blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respirations), vision screening, audiometric testing, pulmonary function tests (PFT), and height and weight measurements. Knowledge of occupational health regulations and industrial hygiene standards, concepts, procedures, policies, and practices to perform independent inspections necessary to control or eliminate hazardous environmental conditions and potential health hazards in industrial hygiene settings. Knowledge to determine which conventional alternative methods, approaches or techniques to apply to resolve an identified problem. Knowledge in the use of equipment for audiometric and pulmonary function testing, vision screening and the ability to explain the purpose and results to employees, recording and interpreting results, and determining need for referral. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relating to the presence of common occupational health illness and injuries. Knowledge and skill in instructing employees in the proper use and care of personal protective equipment to include hearing protection, eye protection, and respiratory protection. Knowledge of medical terminology and skilled in recording specific information in the client's medical record. Knowledge of the anatomy of the ear and skilled in the proper techniques for fitting a variety of hearing protection devices. Knowledge of calibration and use of a wide variety of industrial hygiene sampling instrumentation; ability to select appropriate sampling equipment and techniques to determine the nature and degree of hazards. Knowledge of functions of various computer software and information processing methodology/technology, and processing techniques. Knowledge of medical records administration and management skills and abilities.
