Job Summary
NIST is seeking a Lead Technical Authority and an architect for NCCoE's video collaboration ecosystem. Responsibilities include directing the secure integration of Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet. Managing Teams-certified hardware lifecycles, configuration profiles, and interoperability. Spearheading R&D for AI-driven platform components. Serving as primary technical liaison for A&A processes, ensuring NIST and federal compliance. Overseeing training and knowledge bases for staff.
Job Description
This notice is issued under direct-hire authority to recruit new talent to occupations for which NIST has a severe shortage of candidates. Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level (ZP-III at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as: Configuring and installing Microsoft Teams-certified audiovisual conferencing equipment. Designing room systems and integrating them with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. Diagnosing software, hardware, and network deficiencies reported by video meeting participants. Providing training and documentation on room features. Establishing a monitoring system for conference rooms to proactively triage network and video issues. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
