The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is an independent office whose mission is to promote excellence, integrity, and accountability throughout the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In our dynamic environment, the OIG conducts investigations, audits, evaluations, and inspections to enhance program effectiveness and efficiency and to detect and prevent waste, fraud, and mismanagement in DHS programs and operations.

Job Description

All applicants must meet the below Basic Requirement. In addition to meeting basic requirements applicants must meet the below specialized experience or the education substitution for each grade level as listed below. Specialized Experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. GS-12: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience at this level includes: Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of program operations and data summaries for inclusion in routine and special reports; Providing technical advice on program operations; Participating in discussions, meetings and giving formal briefings to provide information. GS-13: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience at this level includes: Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of program operations and preparing data summaries for inclusion in routine and special reports; Participating in discussions, meetings, and conference calls to provide information; and Presenting findings and technical advice to facilitate the understanding and acceptance of solutions and recommendations.
