The position is located in the Office of Human Resources which provides a comprehensive program that covers position management and classification, personnel staffing and recruitment, pay administration, compensation and benefits, performance management, labor and employee relations, and retirements.
Job Description
You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements: You must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service that is directly related to the work of the position. Specialized experience includes providing advisory services on human resources issues; reviewing, rating, and ranking applications for a variety of positions; establishing and facilitating ranking panels; developing vacancy announcements; working with management to develop outreach strategies to attract well-qualified candidates; advising management on established procedures and practices related to recruitment and staffing, classification, and pay administration; and preparing, and analyzing HR-related reports to support management decision-making and ensure accuracy of personnel data. You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements: You must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service that is directly related to the work of the position. Specialized experience includes performing human resources operations work and providing comprehensive HR advisory services to a wide range of supervisors and managers; working independently to advise management on staffing, recruitment, and pay setting; assist managers in developing job analyses; classify positions in a variety of occupational series; conduct desk audits; prepare detailed evaluation statements; and develop, prepare, and analyze HR-related reports to support decision-making and ensure accuracy of human resources data. Time-in-Grade Requirement: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. GS-12: Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service. GS-13: Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
