Job Description

GS-05: You qualify for the GS-05 grade level if you possess one of the following: Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service performing these duties: Utilizing office automated systems to enter, retrieve, and manage data; Completing, tracking, and maintaining electronic files and records; AND Responding to customer issues and concerns. OR Education: Four years of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed education and experience maybe used to meet the total qualification requirements for the GS-05 position. Combinations are computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable. GS-06: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service performing these duties: Providing assistance and responding to questions regarding human resources related topics; Utilizing electronic tools and systems to maintain and track recruitment and placement information (i.e. checklists, spreadsheets, reports, records, or documents); AND Conducting basic research on personnel actions. GS-07: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service performing these duties: Utilizing electronic tools and systems to research information and resolve basic staffing and recruitment issues; Assisting employees in preparing and submitting a variety of personnel forms; Reviewing personnel actions to ensure they are consistent with legal and regulatory requirements; AND Processing routine personnel actions (i.e. reassignments, career ladder promotions, details, changes to lower grade, etc. Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
