Job Summary

NIST is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor to lead high-voltage electrical and elevator maintenance operations supporting mission-critical research and facility infrastructure across the NIST campus. This role oversees maintenance, emergency response, safety compliance, and modernization activities involving electrical distribution systems, elevators, cranes, and hoisting equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous operations essential to laboratory and research functions.

Job Description

There is no specific length or level of experience required. Applicants' overall experience, training, or education must demonstrate the ability to lead or supervise employees engaged in maintenance operations involving electrical distribution systems, elevators, mechanical hoisting equipment, or related industrial/facilities infrastructure. Applicants must meet the screen out elements and achieve an overall score of at least fifty (50%) or higher Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
