Job Summary
NIST is seeking Facility Operations Managers to oversee the operation, maintenance, and sustainment of facilities and infrastructure supporting mission-critical research activities across NIST campuses. This role leads complex facility operations, coordinates with federal, state, local, and utility partners, and ensures buildings, utilities, and site systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently in support of sensitive scientific environments.
Job Description
Applicants must possess one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level (ZA-III at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience supervising and performing administrative and facilities support activities involving overseeing construction management; assigning duties to subordinates; maintenance operations and contract/ project management; and coordinating with customers for maintenance related activities and repairs. AND A valid state Driver's License is required for this position. NOTE: We cannot accept photographs; therefore, please do not submit a copy of your license with your application package. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
