Job Description
Minimum Qualification Requirements You may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-13, if you possess the specialize experience. Specialized Experience for the GS-13 One year of experience in either federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-12 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments: 1. Experience analyzing financial data, systems, or processes to identify discrepancies, risks, or areas for improvement and supporting financial reporting or program operations. 2. Experience supporting internal control activities (e.g., risk assessments, control reviews, or testing) and identifying or documenting control deficiencies and corrective actions. 3. Experience supporting audit or compliance activities, including responding to audit requests, analyzing findings, or assisting in the implementation of corrective actions. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). Knowledge of financial management principles and practices to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and support reporting requirements. 2. Knowledge of internal control concepts and federal requirements (e.g., A-123) to support control assessments and testing activities. 3. Ability to support audit readiness activities, analyze findings, and assist in developing corrective actions. 4. Ability to evaluate financial systems and processes to identify inefficiencies and support improvements. 5. Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate with internal stakeholders to support financial management activities. Specialized Experience for the GS-14 One year of experience in either federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-13 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments: 1. Experience leading multifaceted financial analyses of processes, systems, or data to identify risks, trends, and systemic issues and recommend solutions. 2. Experience evaluating internal controls and assessing risk in accordance with federal financial management requirements (e.g., OMB Circular A-123), including identifying control deficiencies and recommending corrective actions. 3. Experience advising stakeholders on financial management issues, including resolving complex problems and developing guidance, or influencing decisions to improve financial operations and accountability.
