GS-09: You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess one of the following: Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Provides corrective action and best practices to field responsible officials for the betterment of the local program; Assists the occupational and safety unit in planning and organizing the implementation of recommendations where proposals require changes of established procedures that involve agency resources or conflict with other ongoing activities; and Assists team leads in obtaining resources and accessing related information for decisions on major work problems and issues that arise related to safety and health. OR Education: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed education and experience. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application. GS-11: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one of the following:Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Collaborating with employees to promote the occupational safety and health programs and communicating policy and standards, under direction of leadership. Conducting incident investigations when personnel are injured, or property is damaged in accordance with the requirements established in Federal Policy and Procedures and organizational safety policy. Accomplishing occupational safety and health objectives and priorities established by statutes, executive orders, the Department, or executive leadership by utilizing the management information systems. Assisting the occupational safety and health team in planning and organizing the implementation of recommendations where proposals require changes of established procedures that involve agency resources or conflict with other ongoing activities. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if relatedCombination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed education and experience. GS-12: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Developing training for agency employees on a variety of safety and occupational health subjects including chemical, biological, or physical safety, various laboratory safety needs, or ventilation requirements, under direction of Unit leadership. Providing advice on work methods, best practices, and procedures. Assisting in the implementation of an enterprise-wide training policy supporting an agency's Occupational Safety Health Program. Evaluating and analyzing safety and occupational health problems, conditions, and administrative practices affecting work operations and environmental conditions.
