Job Summary
This position is located with FMWR Special Events on Fort Wainwright, AK. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives may be paid. Up to 25% recruitment or relocation and/or retention incentive may be paid (service agreement required). Recruitment incentives are applicable to newly hired individuals/rehired individuals. Relocation incentives are applicable to current, regular full-time NAF employees.
Job Description
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Possess three years of progressive work experience with at least one year performing duties such as assisting in planning and executing of community special events for a wide range of participants and adapting based on the interests and needs of the community such as: yard sales, 4th of July Celebration, Comedy Clubs, Variety Shows, etc. At least one year of experience must demonstrate the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing. OR Possess a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; event management; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation.** OR Possess a combination of education and experience as outlined above. Education and experience is defined as two years of education in major study in outdoor recreation and parks; event management; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation, or special population recreation and one year of experience assisting in planning and executing of community special events for a wide range of participants and adapting based on the interests and needs of the community such as: yard sales, 4th of July Celebration, Comedy Clubs, Variety Shows, etc. At least one year of experience must demonstrate the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing. **Transcripts MUST be submitted at the time of application if using education to qualify. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess at least one (1) year of experience managing, planning, and executing events (e.g., concerts, comedy shows, holiday events) for 50+ attendees within the past five years. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Possess a valid driver's license and feel comfortable driving in all weather conditions including snow and ice to transport talent more than 5 miles as required. Available and willing to work non-traditional hours alone including late nights, weekends, and midnight airport runs for talent.
