Job Summary
The incumbent of this position serves as the Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist with programmatic and supervisory responsibility for the planning, provisioning, requirements determination, distribution, accountability, and ultimate issue of medical consumption, retention, or disposal of medical surgical supplies and equipment used for patient care and research in the NIH Clinical Center. This includes the inpatient and outpatient environments and all ancillary departments.
Job Description
You qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: have at least one year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1.) Providing programmatic oversight for inventory management operations involving medical surgical supplies and equipment used in patient care and research environments; 2.) independently conducting complex requirements analyses and developing procurement recommendations for medical supplies while considering research needs, vendor performance, storage requirements, shelf life, and Federal Acquisition Regulations; 3.) overseeing inventory distribution, accountability, recalls, and replenishment activities for large-scale medical supply inventories; 4.) managing and using automated inventory management systems to establish reorder points, conduct audits, generate reports, and ensure data integrity; 5.) and ensuring commodities ordered align with allocated budgets while identifying cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiencies.
