THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ATTORNEY-ADVISER (GENERAL) TITLE 32 PERMANENT, Position Description Number D0297P01 and is part of the NH ARNG Command Section, National Guard. This vacancy is to gather applications that may or may not result in a referral or selection.
Job Description
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Title 32 excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades: Officer 02 to 05 Compatible Military Assignments: 27A SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 or equivalent: Must have at least 12 months specialized experience working as a professional Attorney Advisor. Assignments involve extremely complex and difficult legal questions requiring ability to do extensive research, analysis, and evaluation of information in controversial scientific, financial, corporate, medical engineering, or other highly technical areas that have a nationwide interest. Must possess specified experiences that prepared the applicant to successfully perform the Judge Advocate duties and responsibilities, with the required competency level. Experience to conduct investigations to obtain facts, study legal precedents, make recommendations, and prepare necessary documents. Experienced in receiving preliminary instructions, their commitment authority is limited, and completed written work is carefully reviewed. Assignments require the first professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D.), active membership in the bar of the highest court of a State, Territory, or the District of Columbia, and one of the following: (a) Two years of professional legal experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level (second professional law degree (Master of Laws [LL.M.]) provided is required one full academic year of graduate study and 1 year of professional legal experience. or (b) The second professional law degree (LL.M.) plus one year of professional legal experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level
