Job Description

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT) Ability to inspect Technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blue print reading) Measurement and layout Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment Knowledge of materials Dexterity and safety Minimum Qualification Screen-Out: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. Specialized Experience Statement: Candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the WG-09 level in the Federal service or private sector: laying brick, block and stone in straight courses, patterns, arches, and structural configurations requiring close tolerance, alignment, and structural integrity; mixing and applying mortar, grout, and concrete to achieve required strength, durability, and finish; using and maintaining a full range of hand tools, power tools, and masonry equipment, including mixers, saws, grinders, and layout tools; and performing work independently with minimal supervision, planning work sequences, and selecting appropriate materials and methods. Investigation of Fitness A character investigation may be conducted on applicants selected for employment. The purpose of such an investigation is to secure evidence of the candidate's honesty, integrity, general character and loyalty to the U.S. Government. Such investigations will be conducted under the security requirements of the hiring agency.
