Job Summary
The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for Adams National Historical Park is May - February but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: May 2026 NOTE: OPM has identified this position as eligible for an exception to the typical 1039 hour season. This exception allows up to 1560 hours which may extend the season dates noted above. See additional information section for details.
Job Description
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-03/24/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). For this position specialized experience is defined as experience interpreting the resources of a park or other similar areas to the public; analyzing, evaluating, and coordinating interpretive programming; and providing front line customer service by collecting fees and answering visitor questions. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least two full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or master's or equivalent graduate degree related to the work of the position. (Major study -- natural resource management, natural sciences, earth sciences, history, archeology, anthropology, park and recreation management, law enforcement/police science, social sciences, museum sciences, business administration, public administration, behavioral sciences, sociology, or other closely related subjects pertinent to the management and protection of natural and cultural resources. Course work in fields other than those specified may be accepted if it clearly provides applicants with the background of knowledge and skills necessary for successful job performance in the position to be filled.).
