Job Description

You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 for GS-12 and GS-12 for GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. The specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience is defined as: For the GS-12: Specialized experience is defined as experience providing budget guidance and technical assistance to managers and program officials; interpreting and applying budgetary laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; executing and monitoring direct and indirect funds; utilizing accounting, budget, and financial management systems to track and manage funds; analyzing financial data to identify trends, issues, and resource requirements; and preparing reports, and recommendations to support management and leadership decision-making. For the GS-13: Specialized experience is defined as experience independently performing budget formulation, budget execution, and financial management activities involving direct and indirect funds; monitoring and managing commitments, obligations, reimbursable orders, and expenditures within financial management systems; analyzing and interpreting large and complex financial data sets; resolving budgetary and accounting issues; and developing reports, briefings, and recommendations to support leadership in resource allocation and financial decision-making. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
