You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-13 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: managing support programs for Service members, family members, and intimate partners working with Military/Department of Defense social service protocols, resources or policies, and expert knowledge in communication and marketing efforts and prevention of child abuse and neglect and domestic abuse. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). GS-14 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: communication and marketing efforts to include creating communication and prevention plans and materials, preventing and responding to complex domestic abuse and child and neglect cases, writing and reviewing policy related to child abuse and neglect and domestic abuse, collaborating with responders (such as chaplains, health care providers, law enforcement and military Commanders), negotiating with public and private sector organizations to reach consensus on significant matters impacting service members and their families; and expertise in child abuse and neglect and domestic abuse policy and practice management that impacts mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. GS-13 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
