Job Summary
This position is located within the Recycling Program Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Naval Station Mayport Jacksonville, Florida. The purpose of this position is to primarily perform manual labor duties in support of the Recycling Program.
Job Description

Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: The incumbent will have, or be capable of learning, basic operations of cardboard balers; can crushers, drills, portable chop saws, hand grinders and be able to learn how to operate other equipment if the need arises (cutting torches) and gasoline and/or diesel generators. The incumbent must be able to identify ferrous from non-ferrous metal and to sort each into similar piles for sales after initial training period. Must have a valid Florida drivers' license and be able to pass a motor vehicle operator's license pre-employment screening. Incumbent should be able to obtain a forklift license. Must be able to lift items weighing over 50 pounds and pass a pre-employment physical examination. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
