Job Description

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Air National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion). Maximum Military Grade - TSgt (E-6) Minimum Military Grade - SSgt (E-5) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and to safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position. WG-12 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess specialized experience that has provided the ability to perform all the duties of an aircraft crew chief; experience installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification; experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow; and ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container. This specialized experience must also include performing, coordinating, and/or overseeing the work and any periodic inspections to be done on an aircraft. Possession (or previous possession) of AFSC 2A574 is optimum.
