Job Description

NOTE: All job seekers will be required to limit their resumes to 2 pages in length when applying for job opportunity announcements (JOAs) MILITARY GRADE: E1-WO1 Selectee(s) must be within the military grade(s) listed in this job announcement prior to the effective date of placement into the technician position to ensure to avoid grade inversion, as determined by the Human Resources Office (HRO). Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (Grade Inversion). Enlisted members currently at a higher grade than allowed by the position (see Military Grade Requirement above) may apply; however, they must administratively reduce prior to appointment and provide confirmation of the reduction to HRO. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates ability to work effectively and efficiently on weapons and mechanical systems in disassembly for repair, inspection to diagnose mechanical malfunctioning, wear and/or damage is required. Experience in adjustment of levers, gear linkages and synchronization of interrelated mechanical systems. Experience in applying technical manuals, regulations, specifications, and drawings to determine operation, assembly, and a tolerance of the variety of weapons cleaned, repaired, and modified, is required. Experience in using and maintaining a variety of hand and power tools and gages is required. Tools include drills, files, saws, hammers, vises, and precision gages and measuring instruments such as micrometers, optical comparators, ultrasonic checkers, magnafluxing machines and/or borescopes to determine when parts are worn or damaged beyond acceptable tolerances.
