Job Summary

This position is located in NSA Mid-South, in Millington, Tennessee, Fleet and Family Readiness Program, Fleet Readiness Department in the Fitness/Sports and Deployed Support Department. The purpose of this position is to assist the Fitness Director to provide fitness training and education at the installation serviced.

Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Must possess a current certification from a NCCA or DEAC health/fitness organization. Ability to competently and independently carry out fitness programs through the proper application of principles, concepts and techniques of recreation to satisfy specific needs of the community to be served. Skill in planning and carrying out an enhanced program in the recreation specialty area which meets the needs of the participating community. Skill and ability to provide fitness training and programming to individuals and groups of various sizes. Knowledge of the safe use and operation of fitness equipment, facility operations, and basic fitness equipment maintenance/repair. Ability to conduct accurate fitness testing and provide recommended fitness program, based on fitness goals. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Ability to prepare clear, concise, and technically sound reports related to work within the Branch. Ability to develop and effectively deliver presentations and/or training. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
