About the Position: Incumbent serves as a Senior Traffic Management Specialist on the International Movement Operations Team assigned to the G3. Provides technical assistance and guidance to team members on matters associated with the planning, directing, monitoring and assessing cargo movements, but on non-routine matters that require seasoned judgment and adaptation or deviation from existing policy outlined in DOD, Joint, and command regulations and instructions.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes; 1) Experience providing Defense Transportation System (DTS) policy and program interpretation and execution guidance to DoD service providers; 2) Utilizing automated transportation/planning systems to conduct studies and/or research; and 3) Analyzing and/or resolving surface transportation related issues for major unit movements, including creating knowledge, understanding, and information useful in decision making. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
