About the Position: Serves as a Traffic Management Specialist in the ARTRANS Terminal Operations Division, G3, with responsibility for the development, implementation and evaluation of cargo movement via sealift around the world. Responsibilities include a mastery of technical transportation skills applicable to the movement of all classes of cargo to include plans, concepts, operations, principles, readiness, systems, and methodology along with the skills and ability to communicate effectively.

Specialized Experience for GS12: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in 1) facilitating the movement of cargo through the Defense Transportation System, 2) ocean terminal operations support, or 3) providing advisory service to resolve transportation problems to ensure timely movement of cargo. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service (GS-11). Specialized Experience for GS11: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in 1) facilitating the movement of cargo through the Defense Transportation System or 2) providing advisory service to resolve transportation problems to ensure timely movement of cargo. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
