Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience coordinating and integrating complex, multidisciplinary projects and program segments; AND advising leadership on critical policy and program decisions that directly impact organizational and project success; AND developing long-range strategic plans to adapt to major shifts in legislation, authority, or funding. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14). This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour. Temporary Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Temporary Appointment NTE 12 month. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three (3) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a temporary or appointment will be appointed/converted into a Temporary appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
