About the Position: The Supervisory Dispatching Technician provides emergency police, fire and medical services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls and responding with appropriate personnel and equipment. Maintain an accurate status of all emergency response equipment and personnel to assure prompt and accurate response.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes operating automation, emergency dispatching and communication systems; question callers to dispatch the necessary Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to the scene; accomplishing several tasks at one time such as operating radios, telephones, and typing; serve as a mentor by providing and explaining guidance on emergency service dispatching policies and procedures.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-07. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Decision Making Manages and Organizes Information Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent GS-07.
