Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Range Maintenance Technician (Motor Vehicle Operator) without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Range Maintenance Technician (Motor Vehicle Operator) tasks. I can perform a variety of maintenance tasks on ranges, facilities, or training areas. I can perform repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure proper and safe operation, as well as perform basic carpentry work. I can make mechanical adjustments to a variety of systems or components. I can operate common power and hand tools, as well as other electrical devices, to perform simple maintenance tasks. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Trouble Shooting Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Effort: Makes repairs and installations from ladders, trenches, and hard to reach places. Stands, stoops, bends, kneels, climbs, and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Work requires climbing up and down a steep flight of stairs to perform assignments. Frequently lifts and carries equipment and parts that weigh up to 45 pounds. Working Conditions: Works primarily outside, in dirt, dust and mud. Is sometimes required to make repairs and installations outside in windy or cold weather. Is occasionally exposed to possibility of broken bones, electrical shock and burns.
