About the Position: Serves as the Operations Officer responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of law enforcement programs, policies, and procedures of Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. Directly supervises all auxiliary support functions to include general administrative support, and police records.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: External Applicants: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Performing law enforcement activities such as patrol, criminal investigations and apprehensions/arrests; 2.) Providing training/guidance on law enforcement regulations and procedures; and 3.) Completing managerial functions such as performance evaluation, delegating tasks, conducting interviews and preparing reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Current Federal Employees: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Assisting with law enforcement operations in areas such as prevention, detection, and/or reporting of crimes; 2.) Responding to/investigating emergency calls; 3.) Managing aspects of personnel administration such as evaluating performance, preparing schedules and assigning work and 4.) Ensuring compliance with police operations and administration policies/procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
