About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Public Works, Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville. This is a developmental position, GS-09, FPL GS-10. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Interpreting drawings and specifications; 2) Inspecting construction materials and workmanship and 3) Ensuring safety requirements are being followed. Specialized Experience GS-10: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Reviewing drawings and specifications prior to contract; 2) Advising the contractor of contract provisions such as project schedule; safety requirements; use of Government furnished material, equipment or utilities; and 3) Investigating all construction phases to insure compliance with contract schedules. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Building and Construction Compliance Inspection Contracting/Procurement Program Management Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: GS-09: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08). Time in Grade Requirement: GS-10: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
