Job Description
Additional Conditions of Employment: During non-duty hours/days, may be required to report as a member of an emergency response force during actual or simulated accident/incident. This position is designated as Mission Essential position during Inclement Weather Conditions or other designated/identified emergency conditions. In the event of a crisis situation or inclement weather, the incumbent must continue to perform the duties until relieved by proper authority. Incumbent will report for duty during designated inclement weather conditions. Incumbent must be able to successfully graduate from a United States Army Military Police School accredited Civilian Police or Security Guard Course; unless waived, in accordance AR 190-56; within one year (12 months). Incumbent must be a graduate, or willing to attend and successfully complete the United States Amy Military Police School, Military Police Investigators Course which produced the additional skill identifier of V5. This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program in accordance with AR 600-85. Signing of a DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program) acknowledging periodic random drug testing requirements is mandatory prior to being placed into this position. Those individuals not currently occupying a TDP position must successfully complete a pre-appointment drug test prior to being placed into this position and periodically thereafter. This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Conducting investigations of law violoations; 2) Mentoring personnel on detective functions such as: investing, interviewing, and law enforcement tasks. 3) Reviewing documents related to police work such as: case files, initial reports, informant tips, and/or complaints. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
