Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) organizing training activities with other offices/staff, surrounding communities and/or military installations; (2) composing reports, providing statistical and graphic analysis, and maintains training information in an automated data processing system; (3) developing that include containment, control, and mitigation of a hazardous substance; and (4) assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Selective Placement Factors: This position requires you to possess and maintain all of the following Department of Defense, International Fire Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board) equivalent certifications: (Please note: All certifications must be uploaded at time of application): Fire Officer III Fire Instructor III Fire Inspector I and II Hazardous Materials Technician, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification issued by the State of Alabama or National Registry. (You MUST submit a copy of your certification.) Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
