Job Summary
Our work inspires a nation. We are the artisans, historians, and craftspeople who preserve and maintain the landmark buildings, monuments, art and grounds of the Capitol campus.This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Library Buildings and Grounds (LBG), Tenant Services Division, Projects Branch, Wood Crafting Section. The Wood Crafter is responsible for providing complete wood crafting services for various construction and renovation projects throughout the LBG.
Job Description
You must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements by the closing date of the job announcement. You must meet the following SCREEN-OUT(S) required for this position. Ability to perform journey-level wood crafting without more than normal supervision to include: Constructing, altering, repairing, and modifying building items and structures (e.g., wood and metal stud wall framework, suspended ceilings, doors, door frames, finished paneling, windows, countertops); with accuracy, proper spacing, and precise fit to ensure structural soundness and quality appearance. Planning and laying out work from specifications, blueprints, rough sketches, and verbal instructions.
