Job Summary
Join our team as a Maintenance Mechanic in the esteemed Architect of the Capitol, Library Buildings and Grounds, Facilities Support Division, Fort Meade Operations and Maintenance Branch. You'll perform general operations, maintenance, and repair of Building Automation & HVAC Systems. Work may include, but is not limited to the maintenance, repair and installation of commercial/industrial air conditioning and heating systems, plumbing systems, fire sprinkler systems, and electrical systems.
Job Description
You must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements by the closing date of the job announcement. You must meet the following SCREEN-OUT(S) required for this position For WG-11 Ability to perform Maintenance Mechanic duties and responsibilities without more than normal supervision to include: Independently applying a variety of trade practices (e.g., electrical, pipefitting, plumbing, HVAC repair) to plan, layout and complete the installation, modification, and repair of facility equipment; Performing planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance on electronic and Direct Digital Controls (DDCs) including but not limited to: electronic dampers, electronic valves, variable speed drives, and variable air volume systems. Operating, maintaining, replacing, and troubleshooting variable frequency drives (VFD). Testing electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment For WG-10 Ability to perform Maintenance Mechanic duties and responsibilities without more than normal supervision to include: Applying a variety of trade practices (e.g., electrical, pipefitting, plumbing, HVAC repair) to plan, layout and complete the installation, modification, and repair of facility equipment with minimal assistance. Troubleshooting, repairing, and installing a variety of cooling and heating systems with minimal assistance. Troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical circuits, controls and components with minimal assistance.
